Brand Distribution
At Norco, we not only design and develop bicycles and cycling products, we also distribute, sometimes exclusively, over 10,000 different products and accessories. As a company that both produces products and distributes brands, we understand the unique challenges faced by both our vendors and distributors. We have created product development partnerships with many of our distributed brands so that we can provide them with continuous, constructive product feedback. In addition, our knowledgeable, well-trained staff work hard to provide our customers with exceptional service on EVERY brand we distribute.
Norco’s Canadian Distribution Profile
Canada is a country geographically larger than the US but with a population smaller than California. Combine this with a short selling season and the Canadian market presents some unique bicycle distribution challenges. Norco has a successful distribution model that combines seasonal credit programs, printed sales material in both official languages (French and English), and freight programs that move products rapidly to all regions of the country. All of this is backed-up by industry-leading customer service right across the country.
In spite of all this, Canada remains a passionate cycling centre with an extremely technical rider and dealer base. Norco has had over 44 years to perfect and customize a distribution model for this unique environment.
We provide:
- National distribution to over 1,100 independent bicycle dealers across Canada.
- Distribution through two warehouses an customer service centres in Eastern (Toronto) and Western (Vancouver) Canada.
- Guaranteed same-day shipment on orders placed by 3 p.m. each business day.
- Overnight shipment option available to many bicycle dealers across Canada.
- A national sales team of 15 full-time outside sales representatives.
- Inside customer service staff of 25, providing dealer support in both French and English.
- Bilingual credit, warranty, and technical support from both Toronto and Vancouver.
Brand Distribution Support
At Norco, we are selective about the products and brands we distribute. Each company we represent must meet the highest standards of quality, performance, and technology demanded by Canadian independent bicycle dealers.
We take a long-term approach to the distribution of every brand and continually work with our vendors to review all elements of distribution and promotion. This provides the opportunity to review the long-term success of the product line and deliver feedback to our partners on product development, quality, and service issues.
Print & Online Catalogues
We represent all of our distributed brands in a 500+ page dealer catalogue in both French and English. Our catalogue is seen and used by shop staff across Canada every day. Dealers can also access the catalogue online through norcosales.com. The online version provides the dealer with the most current product listings, wholesale pricing, and inventory availability; they can also place orders 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Pre-Season Dealer Programs
We offer extended credit terms with additional discount incentives at the beginning of the season. We also offer additional discount programs to the dealers based on their overall support for our key distributed and in-house brands.
OEM & Purchasing Partnerships
Norco also offers the added benefit of preferred OEM specifications of our distributed brands for our 135 model bicycle line. While specification for OEM depends on a number of factors including: performance, function, and pricing, we place a high-priority on choosing our distribution partner’s products, before considering any others.
Flyers & Sales Promotions
Our distributed brands are featured throughout the year in our ‘Monthly Specials’ flyer, produced in both French and English. The specials are sent by mail, e-mail, and fax to over 1,100 accounts across the country.
We provide additional exposure with one week promotions throughout the year on our ‘Fax/Email Hot Sheet’. It is sent to all key dealers from our regional branch offices.
Trade Shows
Norco provides a strong display presence during national trade shows. We also offer our exclusive partners prime booth space to promote their products at Expo Cycle (Canada’s largest national trade show) in September.
Customer Service & Warranty
Norco’s customer service department comprises 25 full-time employees, from sales reps to warranty and repair technicians.
This department is trained to handle all incoming sales, warranty, and repair inquiries about the brands we distribute. Not only is our staff trained to answer questions, we also assist our distribution partners with repair and warranty issues. Currently, Norco is the national repair centre for Marzocchi, RockShox, Hayes and Avid. Our customer service department handles over 200,000 calls per year!
